Where is the nearest train station?

The nearest mainline station is in Derby (See Really Useful Stuff)

How do we get a refund?

If you are due a refund we will need your bank details and you will receive a refund via a bank transfer.

Can we cancel our booking?

Yes, but only before the 8 weeks prior to your arrival date as set out in our Terms and Conditions and you will need to pay an admin fee. We do try to be flexible as we understand that things happen and if we can rebook the property then you might get some or all of your rental as described in our Terms and Conditions.

Can we postpone our booking?

Yes, but only before the 8 weeks prior to your arrival date as set out in our Terms and Conditions and only for the same property. You will need to pay an admin fee. If we agree to a postponement you will need to give us the new booking dates so we can move your booking.

Where is the nearest Farm Shop?

The Village Stores in Hartington is a short drive (See Really Useful Stuff).

Can we book a food delivery?

Yes, our local supermarkets are M&S and Sainsburys in Ashbourne and Waitrose and Morrisons in Buxton. Please also try to support the local farm shops (See Really Useful Stuff). Cottage addresses and post codes are on the Directions pdf. Please note that our housekeepers will not accept a delivery.

Can we charge our electric car?

Yes, all the cottages, other than Fern Cottage, have access to external 13 amp plug points but you will need to bring an extension. Charging fees do apply (See our Terms and Conditions) and you do need to let us know that you are bringing an electric car when you book.

Does the cottage have an enclosed garden?

Many of our cottages have enclosed gardens and this is in the cottage details. We do expect owners not to leave their pet unattended, including in the garden and remember that your pet may also behave differently from being at home.

Can we bring a pet?

Yes, all the cottages take pets with the appropriate pet fee. Some of our cottages are small and may not be suitable for larger breeds or multiple pets. For more information regarding bringing a pet please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

Do you provide high chairs?

Yes, we can make a high chair available, just let us know when you book.

Do you provide travel cots?

We would prefer if guests used their own travel cots, however, we do understand if this isn’t always possible and can provide a travel cot if required. Please make a request when booking. Sorry but we don’t supply infant bedding.

Can we arrive early/leave later?

The cottage arrival time is 4.00 and departure is 10.00. We can sometimes arrange a slightly different arrival/departure time but this depends on the cottage bookings and the housekeeping schedules. Please do not arrive early without prior agreement.

What’s included in the cottage?

Linens and towels, cleaning materials, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, hand and shower soap (sorry but we don’t supply shampoo or toothpaste), a few essentials like coffee, tea and sugar, salt and pepper, logs, sticks and fire-lighters, dishwasher tablets and tea towels. We don’t leave perishable items in cottages for hygiene reasons as we have 10 cottages and some of them are remote.
